After so much speculation, results day has arrived and what a fantastic day it has been. Without exception, our pupils have achieved GCSE results that reflect their very best academic ability across the subject range. Yes, the results, in this extraordinary year, were teacher assessed. However, our teachers gave careful consideration in awarding accurate results to all of our pupils, and the final assessment process does not diminish their accomplishments.
We share in our pupils’ excitement for their futures and remain incredibly proud of them, not just for their academic achievements, but for the determined, strong and compassionate individuals they have become.
Although national results are not being reported on in the usual way, we would like to share our pupils’ successes with you. We are delighted to tell you that over 51% of all results awarded to Tower College pupils were grades 7-9, with 16% of those grades being the much-revered grade 9. Over 98% of all grades achieved were grade 4-9 and we have a grade 1-9 pass rate of 100% across all GCSEs. Our overall value-added stands at a strong 1.095.
We wish our class of 2020 every success as they embark on the next stage of their academic careers and look forward to enriching and developing the learning experience of our current and future pupils.
