Our Model United Nations Club have been researching and debating climate change this term, with pupils from Years 6 to 10 taking part and representing the views of a wide variety of countries.
Some of our Year 9s and 10s have been participating in MUN for several years their experience showed in their excellent demonstartions of how to make an opening speech. Our newcomers from Years 6 to 8 have been most enthusiastic and have risen to the challenge of standing up and arguing for their countries’ viewpoints, showing a good understanding of the issues. In the last meeting they were challenged to come up with solutions for a simulated ‘world news crisis’. We had a variety of intelligent ideas and an interesting debate.
Our next MUN activity is preparing for a weekend event at Withington Girls’ School in June.
